10am Mile Evans – discussing 24 hour party people
1pm Shobna Gulati (of 24 hr party people?)  at the Skylong
4pm – 5pm reading at The Spirit Level for Poetry Explorers.

The day begins at a meeting with Miles Evans from Press to discuss 24 hour party People the event on 9^th November at The Spirit Level. It's a spirited chat where Evans coins a term Media-ocracy  which is a word play with mediocrity and media.     At 1pm my friend Shobna pops down. We eat at  Skylong.  Shobna is pretty amazing. She is pretty and amazing too and will be reading Jackie Kay at  24 hour party people.

At 4pm I do a reading for Poetry Explorers of the poetry library at The Spirit Level. There are two children for the first ten minutes and then five in total. I wrote a chidlrens book for bloomsbury seven years ago and that's it so I am not known to children.  I was nervous about this reading. It is years since I have read for little little children. I am a bit rusty. Turns out the kids were enchanting and  throughout the reading slipped off their air bean bags. I think they were performning for me rather than I for them.
