It’s another writers advice day at The Southbank centre. It’s great to get into the office at The Riverside Rooms overlooking the Thames.  I meet the first writer in The Hayward Gallery café.  First time I had a meeting there. I like the place. It brings a whole new flavour to the south bank and reminds me of The Dry Bar in Manchester and many other Manchester bars. I think it is because all the industrial workings are deliberately exposed.   These meetings stretch through the day.

At 6pm I meet executive  producer from  Radio Four, Philip Sellars at The members Bar on the sixth floor which is also a nice space. Incredible views over London.   We have just had the news that Radio Four have commissioned a five piece documentary series for March 24th next year. It’s good news.  I brought a book for Philip Fire and Steam and give him a bottle of wine from my Hay on Whye Winter festival goody bag. I don’t drink so it’s nice to give the wine as a present to people. There’s two  other bottles left at the office.

At 8pm we say goodbye and I attend  PULSE performing at The Hayward Gallery.  I did one two hour workshop with the students and they with the help of Fraiser Trainer the musician all produced n directed by Mary King, give an electric performance of song.

Within the workshop I did two workshops, one free verse and one with a rhyming piece.  For them to produce what they did in such a short time is fantastic.   I could’ve done more and wanted three hours with them.  What Mary King is doing with Voicelab is great.  This is why I am here, as a resource right? I  get on my bike and go home.
